I recently purchased a Bantam trailer. Knowing a little about these, I figured it would be a simple restoration project. I haven't begun work yet, but hope to later this summer. I came across your website while I was attempting to find out the year of production for this unit. Hopefully the attached photos will provide at least a little information or reference.

The serial number is 2971. The one item I found curious was the installation of coil springs, which I believe was in place of shocks by a previous owner...

All photos are of the trailer as purchased. The previous owner bought it to use on his farm, but shortly after sold the farm. It sat in his garage for several years before he decided to sell it. According to him, the person he purchased it from wanted it as a reminder of his days in the army while he was on tour in Europe during WWII. That person never used it, the trailer just sat in his garage. The original owner used the trailer frequently, and installed the wood sides. The trailer spent some time being stored outside, but it has little weathering considering it was stored indoors for the past 30 years...

You have a nice website. Thank you for helping to preserve the history of these trailers.
